2010 Holiday Parade Float!

As part of the first week's challenge I'm posting some photos of our 2010 float for the Bridgeton Holiday Parade. Kids from ages 8-18 worked to make "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." We had several workshops where kids made the paper, then decoupaged it onto foam insulation board that had been cut into shapes representing all of the food the caterpillar ate. Next, we made a giant caterpillar using garden trellis, cotton batting, fabric and a giant red ball! It was a huge success thanks to our friendly, neighborhood, volunteer-artist, Jessica Gilligan!

First post!

This is my first post for the CSS Tech Challenge. I have never blogged before, but plan to take this opportunity to learn as much as I can and keep posting about my weekly Storytime.

Dance your fingers is a fingerplay that I always do at Storytime:

Dance your fingers up,
Dance your fingers down,
Dance your fingers to the side,
Dance them all around.

Dance them on your shoulders,
Dance them on your head,
Dance them on your tummy,
And put them all to bed.

We do it three times -- once at regular speed, once super fast, and once in s-l-o-w  m-o-t-i-o-n.
The kids love it.

Good luck to everyone!
